USMC Combat Assault Battalion PATCH Marines IRON FIST ! Okinawa CAB Eng AAV LAR

Attention all Marines and Marine Corps patch enthusiasts!  This is a FINE example of a unit logo patch for
Combat Assault Battalion
of 3rd Marine Division.
These can't be found just anywhere!
Not, of course, allowed on the uniform, but worn on all manner of off-duty civilian caps and clothing as novelty items.
Combat Assault Battalion (or CAB) traces its lineage back to 1st Amphibious Tractor Battalion.  First AmTrack had distinguished service with 1st MarDiv in
WWII
and
Korea,
and with 3rd MarDiv in
Vietnam!
But the make-up of the unit is not quite the same as other Amphibious Assault battalions.  The Latin motto says it best:
Sui Generis
“Of it’s own kind” or “unique.”  And this unit certainly is one-of-a-kind!  In addition to
Headquarters & Service Co,
CAB’s assigned companies include
Light Armored Recon, Assault Amphibian,
as well as the
3rd Combat Engineer Co.
Combat Assault Bn is known as
The IRON Fist,
and as hand & mace rising from the sea suggest, the main function is to conduct and support amphibious assault.  But they can also function (with attached infantry) as a
combined-arms maneuver element
in support of 3rd Marine Division.  Unit is stationed at Camp Schwab in Okinawa.

This is a BRAND NEW and UNUSED patch.  It is NOT a war relic but a recent manufacture item!  Please note that this is a
smaller
patch, ideally suited for a ball cap.  Embroidered on tan twill with cut (non-merrowed) edge and plastic heat-sealed backing (as shown in 2nd photo.)  Colors are clean and bright.  See ruler in photo for size comparison.
