    Description

Attention all Marines and Marine Corps patch enthusiasts!  This is a FINE example of a unit logo patch for
    24th Marine Expeditionary Unit
    of Fleet Marine Forces, Atlantic.
These can't be found just anywhere!
Not, of course, allowed on the uniform, but worn on all manner of off-duty civilian caps and clothing as novelty items.
    Twenty-fourth MEU is a
    Marine Air Ground Task Force
based on the east coast.  In his book on the subject,
    Tom Clancy
refers to the Marine Expeditionary Units as the
    “crown jewels”
of the Fleet Marine Forces!  Built around a Battalion Landing Team, with aviation and support components, these ship-based Marines often provide the “tip of the spear” of any military action the Commander in Chief may direct.  The MEUs receive intensive training prior to deployment to earn the designation
    Special Operations Capable!
    Originally known as
    34th Marine Amphibious Unit,
in the '60s and '70s, they were redesignated 24th MAU in 1982, and "Expeditionary" in 1988. During 1982-83 the 24th MAU served twice in Beirut, Lebanon for peacekeeping duties there. In 1991, after Desert Storm, 24th MEU participated in
    Operation Provide Comfort,
bringing food and safe haven to Kurds in northern Iraq. In later years they've deployed from
    Somalia
    to
    Haiti,
    and all the way to
    Bosnia,
    where they rescued
    USAF Captain Scott O'Grady
who'd been shot down in 1995 over hostile territory!
    Recent Decades:
This unit deployed in 2002 to Kosovo and then on to Iraq in 2003 for service in
    Operation Iraqi Freedom!
In July 2004 they again deployed to Iraq to provide security in the Babil province. They returned to the US in February 2005.
This is a BRAND NEW and UNUSED patch.  It is NOT a war relic but a recent manufacture item!   Embroidered on blue twill with cut (non-merrowed) edge and plastic heat-sealed backing (as shown in 2nd photo.)  Colors are clean and bright.  See ruler in photo for size comparison.
Flat fee for shipping is .00.
    Semper Fi!

    Contacting Me:
    Click
    "Ask a question"
link above to make initial contact, and I will respond in kind using the “eBay Messaging” forum.  Please monitor your
    e-mail
    and/or eBay
    "Messages"
tab for my response.  I'll share my e-mail address in the response, and you are welcome to communicate with me via e-mail at that point if you wish.
(Your e-mail address will only be used for response to questions or transactions.  I have no interest in sending unsolicited advertising, and will not share your contact info with anyone.)
    I try
to respond within 24 hours, but hope you understand I do have a life outside eBay, and may not always be so prompt. And please take into account weekends and traditional US holidays.
Messages communicating info about a listed item are appreciated ..... but may not get response quite as fast as a message that requires immediate answer.  I
    do
have to prioritize every now and then.

    Packaging & Reliability:
My flat-fee shipping structure covers cost of packaging and postage, and is a
    best-guess estimate
for size and weight of items.  It's not an exact science.
(The flat fee is still significantly less than my actual cost for postage.)
    Items ship in
    zip-closure poly bags
to protect from moisture.  Items ship as trackable USPS First Class parcels within the US.
In my experience, the track record of
    US Postal Service
    delivery within the US is
    practically 100% reliable.
    I may
    at my discretion
choose insurance for shipments of a certain value.  But the best insurance you can have is to make sure you provide a
current and correct postal delivery address,
and to check your mailbox regularly.
    Items ship within
    1 business day
of receiving payment.  Check my feedback for
    satisfied customer testimonials!
    Feedback:
I always post feedback after a completed transaction and always appreciate feedback from satisfied buyers. Normally takes me only a day or two, but sometimes I get behind.
    Please be patient.
Also, if you are dissatisfied in any way, please contact me before posting negative. Maybe there's a misunderstanding, or something we can work out.
    Return Policy:
    "No Returns Accepted"
is my designated policy, unless an item has a defect or was misrepresented.  I go to great lengths to describe each item
    honestly and accurately,
    and there’s a
    ruler
in each photo for size comparison.  I ask that you be sure of your decision before buying.
Please read the description entirely and carefully examine the photo.
    Ask questions
    prior to bidding.
I try to respond to e-mail inquiries within 24 hours.
Please resolve any questions or doubts prior to purchasing.
    My Expectations:
    Buyer’s
    on-file E-mail address
    is valid, and checked regularly.
    Buyer's
    confirmed ship-to address
    is
    correct
    and
    current
    for
    postal delivery.
    Payment
(or communication indicating buyer’s intentions) within
    three (3)
business days is appreciated. If no response, a reminder invoice is sent. If I don't hear from a buyer — in any form — after more than
    ten (10)
business days, a case may eventually be filed with eBay’s
    Resolution Center
    to recover the
    Final Value Fee
(eBay’s commission) on a sale not completed.  In the case of an auction, this usually results in the item being re-listed.
    :-(
    Bottom line:
    Please
    contact me
if there are circumstances in which you cannot comply with above expectations.
