Attention military veterans and collectors!  Here's a patch marking a
major historical contribution
of the US Marine Corps in latter part of the 20th century.  It's a commemorative patch for the six-year deployment of
1st Marine Division
in
VIETNAM!
First MarDiv Headquarters moved to Viet Nam in March 1966 (its 7th Marines component had been there since August 1965.)  Division HQ was located in Chu Lai, but eventually moved up to Da Nang.  Area of operations was Quang Tin and Quang Nai provinces.  During their deployment, the division conducted
scores of operations,
and successfully repelled Viet Cong and NVA assaults in 1968’s
Tet Offensive!
As indicated on the patch, 1st MarDiv returned to the US in 1971.
I'll bet there are plenty of 1st MarDiv Marines out there on eBay who served “in country” during this time!  If so, why not take advantage of this opportunity to honor your tour of duty and place in history?  This is a sharp-looking patch, with the 1st Marine Division symbol prominently displayed.  Wear it on your cover!  Or close to your heart!

This is a BRAND NEW and UNUSED patch.  It is NOT a war relic but a recent manufacture item!  Embroidered on blue twill with merrowed edge and plastic heat-sealed backing.  Colors are clean and bright.  See ruler in photo for size comparison.
